Export pulls the wood-furniture  industry

The wood-furniture industry closed 2007 with a positive result especially regarding export: according to the preliminary figures presented by Centro Studi Cosmit/Federlegno-Arredo, the made-in-Italy industry scored +5% in turnover, getting close to 40 billion Euros, and +8% in export. Small-medium companies proved to be able to adapt to market changes, leveraging a positive market trend and starting a reorganization process with a competitive attitude. Great support comes from the Federation, so the Fla President Roberto Snaidero. A brand new web site www.federlegno.it was designed with new graphic and contents, in order to create a community for the wood-furniture industry companies. Positive signals from each sector as well: furniture +4.4 % with 23.8 billion Euro turnover; export +8%, with the best result in the past seven years after 15.2% in 2000, representing 50.6% of total turnover with 12 billion Euros. Plus 5.8% of turnover for wood, little less than 16.2 billion Euros and +6% domestic market growth: with its 19.3 billion Euros, it accounts for 90% of total turnover. Construction is the most dynamic industry with its brand new products for energy saving and sustainable buildings
