Railways versus the rest

A few days ago, a freight train fully loaded with containers left from Beijing to get to Hamburg. The train is supposed to get to destination in less than 20 days covering more than 10,000 km. Deutsche Bahn Ag, together with six railway companies in the countries where the train is passing by, aim at grabbing a portion of the market share which has always been owned by ship or air cargo transport. Once the service is stabilized, the train should cover the distance within 15-18 days.
