New continuous press line “Cps” for Gruppo Mauro Saviola

Dieffenbacher (www.dieffenbacher.de) recently has been awarded with an order for the engineering, supply and installation of a new continuous press line “Cps” by the leading Italian wood based panel producer Gruppo Mauro Saviola (www.grupposaviola.com).
The new 2,40 meters wide and 40,5 meters long press line “Cps 240-40,5 S” will replace an existing multi-opening press operating in the Società industria agglomerati (Sia) plant in Viadana (Mantova). Operation of this press will be stopped in July of 2008 and the press will be removed from the production line in order to allow start of preparation works to accept installation of the new equipment.
Dieffenbacher will start delivery still end of this year. Installation will begin immediately after arrival of the first shipment on site. An ambitious, detailed and precisely defined erection schedule has been worked out between Sia and Dieffenbacher with the goal to produce first board on the new line in April 2009. Final acceptance of the line is scheduled for July 2009.
Dieffenbacher`s scope of supply comprises the necessary modification of the existing forming line for integration of a new movable belt nose with reject hopper and the transfer belt into the continuous press. Behind the press Dieffenbacher supplies new discharge roller conveyors with integrated side trimming units and state of the art electronic control equipment as well as a new double diagonal saw system for cutting of the master panels from the endless board ribbon being discharged from the press. All modification works will be performed under Dieffenbacher`s responsibility.
After completion of the line modification the total production capacity of the Viadana plant will rise to 550.000 m³ per year.
Gruppo Mauro Saviola has been using since many years Dieffenbacher equipment in some other group member plants, such as SIT S.r.l. in Mortara, where a 50,2 m long and 2,40 m wide CPS press is very successfully producing high quality particleboard with optimum efficiency since almost 10 years now (Picture SIT).
