“MT3” by Driade: winner of the 21st Golden Compass Award

“MT3” armchair by Ron Arad obtained the XXI ADI Golden Compass Award.
“MT3”, the rocking chair by Driadestore, designed by Ron Arad in 2005, is the winner of the renowned international award founded in 1954 – at the same time of the historical collection Compasso d’Oro (Golden Compass), the unique design collection of exceptional historical-artistic interest in Italy.
Ron Arad, internationally renowned as one of the most interesting players in the contemporary design world, is working again with Driade. He is continuing a “project” started in the Nineties, with “Empty Chair”, now offering “MT”, an innovative two-color pressed plastic polymer chair. The name “MT” (which in English sounds exactly like Empty) is a sort of tribute to his first project. “MT” chairs are produced by rotational molding technique. “MT3” rocking chair is a variation on the vacuum topic and is part of a chair family which includes also “MT1” chair and “MT2” couch, made of plastic polymer (sandy white on the outside and orange on the inside).
