Bellotti adopts up-to-date solutions for its timber management system

Last September 2008 Bellotti completed an ambitious project to control warehouse physical logistic flows, denominated “Warehouse management facility (Wmf)”, through which the company confirms its commitment to innovation and which introduces two relevant novelties in the field of timber and planks management.
The first new element is the up-to-date system of optical measurement and marking of each single plank, a peculiar system which in Italy only Bellotti adopted and in Europe only a few other companies located in Scandinavia.
This system makes use of five lined up cameras positioned at the bottom of the trimming station and includes three consecutive steps: in the first step the plank, positioned in the middle of the roller table below the trimming machine, is taken an infrared photograph to determine its outline, its area, its length and width; in the second step on the plank is printed an exclusive identifying code, belonging to it only; in the third step the cameras capture the image of the plank with its dimensions and this image is filed together with the code assigned to the plank.
Thus, this system makes easily traceable any single manufactured plank and assures a proper and consistent measurement method, leaving all the same the operator the possibility of intervening to change the cut, modifying the length or the width.
Instead the second novelty concerns the company’s warehouse logistics, now totally computerized and using barcodes and wireless connections.
But Bellotti is preparing another novelty as well: from November on their website www.bellottispa.com will be online with a complete new look, as to both graphics and contents, with new sections and areas for in-depth analysis.
