I Saloni, global event

In the next few years, characterized by the international crisis and strong competition, high-quality exhibitions will consolidate their driving role for the internationalization of the wood-furniture industry. However, this requires a well-structured promotion system and not just the will to exhibit. That’s the vision of Cosmit, the Milan-based fair organizer that promotes I Saloni. The next event, from 22 to 27 April 2009 at Fieramilanorho, was presented in Milan a few days ago: with 2 thousand exhibitors and over 15 thousand new products exhibited, I Saloni will include the traditional Salone del Mobile, plus Salone del Complemento d’Arredo, SaloneSatellite and the biennial show Euroluce. Next year, all event will be linked by the writing “The Event” closely entwined with the I Saloni logo, in order to strengthen its identity as main event in the housing, furniture and contract industry at international level. “Companies alone cannot make it if they are not part of a system – said Carlo Guglielmi, Cosmit President -, this is clearly visible during the design week in Milan. We want to transfer the extraordinary tension of these days to ordinary organization, promoting not only the quality of furniture and lighting, but a real lifestyle.” The big design show in Milan will offer an all-round review, from single pieces to coordinated systems, from classical to design masterpieces, up to modern creations, with an eye to future trends and the best of contemporary production in lighting, from private houses to public areas. A message is being sent our to institutions in view of Expo 2015, an event for which the I Saloni experience can offer a substantial contribution. “Cosmit is not just an exhibition organizer, but a real institution – added Guglielmi – and we are ready to offer our expertise and know-how. The Expo must be an event that turns into a long-term asset and resource for the city of Milan and the whole country, as well as a direction to follow. As a matter of fact, it has already begun and we would like to be part of it from the very start.”
