Agreement between Egger e MeisterWerke

Egger and MeisterWerke have reached an agreement granting each other usage rights to their respective patents in the field of direct printing technology.
Direct-coated laminate flooring was already produced and marketed by Egger under the vivo brand name back in 1999. Since 2006, the product has been produced in a new plant in Brilon constructed for this purpose. Several years of development preceded this groundbreaking investment for Egger.
MeisterWerke constructed a facility for the production of direct-printed flooring panels in Meiste, North Rhine-Westphalia, in 2004. This project was also preceded by several years of development which – as it did at Egger – resulted in various direct printing technology patents.
Now the patents that were acquired will be used jointly. The objective is to fully exploit the extensive development potential of this technology. Plans for the ongoing development of surface characteristics for direct-printed laminate flooring are the main objective of this agreement. Ultimately, the agreement is also intended to assure maximum legal certainty for the respective customers, as emphasised by the companies in a joint press release.
