According to the survey by Cnfma (the association of China forestry and woodworking machinery industry), as compared to the same period of 2008, orders for the first quarter 2009 increased according to 11.59 percent of the interviewees, decreased for 80.43 percent, and remained stable according to 7.98 percent. Domestic orders increased according to 12.32 percent, falled according to 76.81 percent and was stationary for 10.87 percent. Orders from foreign markets was considered as stationary by 36.23 percent of the sample, falling by 56.52 percent and increasing by 7.25 percent.
According to the survey, sales amount remain stable for 46.38 percent of the interviewees, decreased for 47.83 percent, increased according to 5.8 percent of the interviewees.
21.74 percent of the sample indicates stationary production in the first quarter, 26.81 percent growing and 51.45 percent decreasing.
Available stocks are growing according to 37.68 percent, decreasing according to 39.86 percent and stationary according to 22.46 percent. Employment is considered stationary by 63.77 percent of the sample, increasing by 7.97 percent and falling by 28.26 percent.
Orders for the next period are expected to increase according to 41.30 percent, to decrease for 15.22 percent, and to remain stable according to 43.48 percent. The domestic market is going to expand according to 42.75 percent of the interviewees, while 18.12 percent fears further shrinkage. For the remaining 39.13 percent of the sample, domestic sales will be stable. Foreign orders are expected to increase according to 35.51 percent of the interviewees, to shrink for 21.74 percent, and to remain stationary for 42.75 percent.
