Architecture, wood, earthquake at the University of Chieti-Pescara

A meeting on safe and resistant wooden buildings was recently held at the University of Chieti-Pescara. The event was organized by the magazines Tetto e Pareti and Mondolegno and it was sponsored by pro domo legno (www.prodomolegno.it). The initiative was presented by the Association of German wooden house manufacturers (Bdf – Bundesverband Deutscher Fertigbau) and by some other German organizations specializing in this kind of construction.
The speakers of the University of Chieti-Pescara and, in particular, professors Claudio Varagnoli and Fabio Armillotta analyzed the most renowned renovation projects in Italy and abroad giving wood a key role. Giovanni Cenci, Franco Laner, Attilio Marchetti and Paolo Lavisci took part in the meeting and analyzed the topic of new frontiers of wooden constructions and renovations in seismic areas.
Today, indeed, you can build customized wooden houses with project engineering proposed by architects and defined according to customers’ requirements. All the companies of pro domo legno, for example, can provide completely customized solutions that have nothing to do with the old temporary and prefab houses. The new projects ensure also high quality in compliance with safety regulations.
