The mosaic of living on show in Verona

The twenty fourth edition of Abitare il Tempo will take place in Verona from 17-21 September.
Of course, the current crisis – reported the press release – has slowed our process, but it can’t stop the creative flow and the entrepreneurial passion which are the source of its success. We are convinced that the crisis is an opportunity to reflect, clarify and re-launch the quality of the decor sector, which is the envy of the world”.
Carlo Amadori, who has organised and curated the exhibition since 1986, for the 2009 edition has put his name to a representative image of this “river of ideas” which runs through Verona and finds expression in the only Italian exhibition able to unite 18 different product sectors, all linked to the décor sector: furniture, kitchens, bathrooms, upholstery, decorative accessories, table ware, lighting, wall and floor coverings, and furnishing fabrics of classic and contemporary taste, of haut décor and design, etcetera.
Another innovation for Abitare il Tempo is represented by the outside project covering 15thousand square metres, entirely dedicated to outdoor décor, by Frassinago Lab. The area situated in the piazza of the fair in front of the halls, will be reserved for ideas from the finest representative companies in this sector creating a small but organic exhibition within a exhibition.
For the third consecutive year, hall 7b is entirely dedicated to the project Linking People (the contract world) and its most innovative interpreters in the field of architecture and design. Thirteen of these will exhibit their most recent projects with the participation of partner companies. With this in mind, it is significant that in this very dynamic sector, in which Italy is among the leaders in the world, encouraging signs are being seen, against the trend of the crisis. The first two “special guests” of Linking People will be Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas, to whom an appropriate installation is dedicated, with the projection of one of their video contributions.
The “2009 Abitare il Tempo prize” will be assigned to Gillo Dorfles, acute and genial art and design critic, a professor of aesthetics at the Universities of Milan, Trieste and Cagliari, awarded the Compasso d’oro Ai and the Medaglia d’oro from the Triennale di Milano, and an honorary degree from the Milan Polytechnic, but above all the author of memorable books.
And in the Verona exhibition centre, during the twenty fourth edition of Abitare il Tempo, the fifth edition of ArtVerona will take place. This is an exhibition which hosts 170 galleries amongst the most important in the world of modern and contemporary art in Italy.
