10 thousand square metres of clean energy by Bellotti
A photovoltaic system fully integrated into the roof structure. This is the ambitious project which Bellotti (www.bellottispa.com), one of the leading company in the wood industry, is completing in its headquarters of Cermenate (Como). Not only. It is the first company of the wood and furniture business industry in Italy to implement a system of this kind.
It is a project which confirms and strengthens the firm’s sensitivity for environmental sustainability issues.
A surface of 10 thousand square metres, 3,900 photovoltaic panels, 992,555 Wp of power, a production of 1,025,200 kWh of clean energy every year: these are but a few of the figures related to the new system.
According to these figures it is also possible to determine how many harmful substances, thanks to this system, Bellotti will not release in the atmosphere every year, that is: 645.87 tons of carbon dioxide, 1.43 tons of sulfur dioxide, 1.94 tons of nitrogen oxides. Thus there will be a saving of 225.54 tonnes of oil equivalent.
Thanks to their new system Bellotti will give their contribution to protect the environment even when the production activities will be interrupted for the summer break: the energy produced in that period, which goes to the public utilities company, will offer the local community an opportunity of using clean energy. The system is installed by Alter Eco which uses high quality products from Switzerland, like Sun Age panels and Sputnik Engineering inverters, and is starting operating by the end of 2009.
