Wood-Tec: sporadic signs of recovery from Brno

Supported by Eumabois and organized by Bvv, the eleventh edition of Wood-Tec – the important exhibition dedicated to the wood industry which was held in Brno (Czech Republic) – closed last October 23 recording the presence of 253 exhibitors over an exhibition surface of 11,211 square meters. According to the organizers, 30 thousand visitors attended the event walking by the halls of the exhibition center, but we have to keep in mind that this figure included also another exhibition dedicated to medical technology, which was held simultaneously with Wood-Tec.
According to the Italian exhibitors, only sporadic recovery signs were perceived and most of the people attending the event confirmed the stagnation period of the market and the expectations for a slow and progressive recovery.
As to visitors, satisfaction was rather limited: the attendance level was important however, but the quality and the type of visitors partly disappointed the expectations of exhibitors.
The feelings of local manufacturers was different. Indeed they said the industry was able to resist the global economic crisis.
Acimall (www.acimall.com) – the Italian woodworking machinery & tools manufacturers’ Association – took part in the event with an info stand located in hall P.
