"Messages from Wood" Exhibition at Villa Manin

Messages from Wood” is a touring exhibition designed by the European sculptors and wood turners art  Olympus that presents it for the second time, after the November 2008 meeting held at the former Military Arsenal in Verona. 

From April 9 to May 29, 2011 the exhibition can be visited at the Villa Manin in Passariano (Udine). 
The main objective is to spread the culture of wood through the highest artistic expression that manifests itself in different ways in sculpture, turning, in the applied arts, in carving and pyrography. 
Each of these arts will be a dedicated section, which highlights the artistic techniques of each Olympus member.
News of the exhibition will be a section devoted to historic and contemporary masters of wood sculptors who have made history and that continue to do, from Augusto Murer, Mario Ceroli, to Romano Abate and from Slovenia Negovan Nemec, and then can be seen the works of 
Marino Marini, Bruno Chersicla, Max Seibald and younger but already known Aron Demetz
A space will be devoted entirely to the schools and industry to our young people to highlight the works of members under 20. 
In the last two weekends of May, in outer space, you can see a demonstration of carving and sculpture symposium in chain saw. 
Another important appointment, May 14 from 10am to 5.30pm, you can attend the conference “Messages from Wood” (Art and nature – architecture and sculpture in the changing of urban values in thecontemporary). 
The meeting will close with “Sculptors in comparison” Romano Abate, Max Solinas, Aron Demetz and Francesca Cursi will discuss various ways of interpreting the art of sculpture.
