It will be a record year for the Italian manufacturers of machines for packaging. According to the actual pre-final data collected by the Study Centre of Ucima, this year should end with a turnover of around 4.3 billion euros, up 14.4 percent on 2010, a higher value compared to the pre-crisis period.

This confirms it is one of the most dynamic industries of the made ​​in Italy and among the few who have already filed the collapses recorded in past years.

Fundamental in achieving these important outcomes are the exports, which now represent 90 per cent of total turnover. In absolute values ​​the exports are expected to reach 3.85 billion euros, an increase of 15.9 percent on 2010. A “plus” sign also for domestic sales amounted to 450 million euros.

But the trend seems less lively for the next year.
The slowdown in global growth recorded in recent months and cautious forecasts for 2012 made ​​by the major world economic agencies, also make prudent the operators in our industry“, said the president of Ucima Giuseppe Lesce.
