Packaging: record turnover in Italy

The Italian manufacturers of packaging machinery and wrapping registered year 2011 in a brilliant way. With an increase of 14.4 percent compared to 2010 (3,759 billion euros), the turnover of the industry has reached 4,300 million euros, exceeding the performance of the record year, 2008, when it reached 3,827 billion euros.
These are the main figures emerged from data collected by the Studies Center of Ucima, the national trade association of Italian manufacturers of packaging machinery and wrapping.
Cautious are the forecasts for the current year. The slowdown in the closing months of 2011 estimates to keep the revenue levels achieved last year.
