Imm cologne + Living Kitchen
The next dual exhibition imm cologne/LivingKitchen will take place from 14-20 January 2013.
Koelnmesse is looking forward to a very successful imm cologne 2013: a total of 1,050 exhibitors from more than 50 countries have confirmed their attendance, 625 of them from abroad. Together with the international kitchen event LivingKitchen, the trade fair will be filling the 280,000 square metres of gross floor space in halls 1 to 11 to capacity.
As always, the successful furniture and interior design fair will of course more than justify its position as a showcase for new products: some exhibitors are already offering a peek at their trump cards and providing a little foretaste of what they will be showing in Cologne in mid January. From the pure design segment to the staging of unusual interiors in pure village or the lavish booths in sleep, smart, comfort or prime: many manufacturers see the imm cologne as the most important trade fair platform of all and an indispensable start to the business year 2013. In addition, the developments from the exhibiting companies underscore many important trends such as sustainability, distinctive design and functionality. Upholstered furniture, for instance, is becoming a little less colourful but all the more comfortable. Otherwise, furniture is becoming more curvaceous, and the picture is often dominated by new interpretations of established classics.
“Ambiente Cucina” (Italian kitchen show) is an exhibition area organised by Koelnmesse Italia during “LivingKitchen” with the intention of offering a snapshot of the best examples of “Made in Italy” in the world of kitchen furniture.
Five leading Italian brands Dada, Ernestomeda, Lago, Minotti Cucine and Riva 1920 will display some of the most significant models of their collections in an extremely dynamic space, shared cleverly with “Barrique, a new life for wood“, the project created by San Patrignano community, challenging 30 leading architects and designers to create the design item of their choice using recycled wood taken from the community’s old wine casks. Hall 4.2, booth B030.
The whole of Hall 1 has been reserved for the new “European Lifestyles” theme that will be making its debut at the imm cologne 2013. Besides attractive national pavilions for furniture manufacturers from Rumania, Estonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia, the highlights also include a number of strong individual exhibitors and a joint show by young, innovative companies from Germany. “European Lifestyles” will also be hosting a group show featuring manufacturers of high-quality, design-oriented furniture and organised by the Swiss Import Promotion Programme (Sippo). This will be the eighth time Sippo has been represented at the imm cologne. The programme promotes private-sector companies in selected countries who are seeking access not just to the Swiss market but to the markets of the European Union as well.
This year Sippo is presenting six European manufacturers from the Ukraine, Macedonia and Serbia. And the four providers from Indonesia and Vietnam who will also be represented at the Sippo booth will be contributing far more than just a dash of exotic colour.
The spectrum of products at the Sippo booth includes tables and chairs, upholstered furniture and beds, children’s, living room and bedroom furniture, as well as outdoor, office and hotel furnishings.
With its highly diverse selection of products and design, Sippo’s joint booth is a perfect fit with the “European Lifestyles” concept. The furniture brought together in this new segment is not just innovative and highly marketable, it promises a convincing price-performance ratio as well. For buyers, “European Lifestyles” is an opportunity to examine and select sales-boosting new ranges for the “middle of the market” in concentrated form
