Forest Europe Workshop Green Economy and forests

Forest Europe Liaison Unit Madrid (www.foresteurope.com) announces the launching of a “Workshop on Green Economy & Social Aspects of Sustainable Forest Management (Sfm)”.
The event will be held in Santander, North of Spain, and hosted at the Palace of La Magdalena, the most emblematic building of the city. It will take place on the 29th and 30th of April 2014.
The main objective of this workshop, as stated in the Forest Europe Programme of Work, is “to identifying effective measures to foster and strengthen green jobs and propose pan-European approaches to raise awareness and to serve decision making on the contributions of multiple forest functions to the world economy, building upon the outcomes of Rio+20 and the Sustainable Development Goals”.
The workshop will also deal with the social dimension of Sfm, addressing aspects related to the new social demands on forests.
