Two months on from its inauguration, the first International Career Master organized by Ica Academy, the Ica Group training school, has reached the end of the first phase. The seven Master’s students, selected from a large number of recent graduates who applied, benefit from a full scholarship and have the target of being recruited by the group as Overseas technical/Sales specialists or Country Managers.
Thus far, the training has been provided both in classrooms and in the R&D Laboratory, which is very much the pride and joy of the Marche-based company. The objective of these first two months has been to develop up-to-the-minute skills on various aspects of company management, from marketing to administration, IT systems to planning, manufacturing to technical support, leadership styles to negotiating techniques. The training program is supplemented by various practical exercises, specially designed by the Ica Group managers, and by written, oral and application tests on the skills acquired. Several days have also been dedicated to technical training on coating products and on wood.
To allow them to put those skills into practice, at the end of this first phase the students were sub-divided into three groups and each group was assigned a theme considered strategically important for the technical/commercial development of ICA over the medium term. The outcome of this project work constitutes an additional element of evaluation for access to the second and final phase of the Master, which will be held January 7 through February 26, 2016, and will focus on the in-the-field shadowing of expert personnel from Ica Group. In this way, the selected students can experience first-hand the role for which they have put themselves forward as candidates.
