Annual Results Press Conference with record figures: Dr. Roland Fleck and Peter Ottmann, the CEOs of NürnbergMesse, presented record results for the company’s business development. 2015 goes down in history as the best uneven year. The current corporate year is fully on course for a turnover record. The basis for this is a clearly above-average event trend – in Nuremberg as well as worldwide – along with innovations in the form of new trade fairs, exhibitions and congresses. Central challenges remain digitization and high investment levels in the exhibition centre.
2015, a successful business year all round, as presented by the CEOs of the NürnbergMesse Group. In 2015, 27,147 exhibitors and 1.23 million visitors participated in 161 events staged by the NürnbergMesse Group, with around 875,000 m² of net space booked. Looking back on the past financial year, exhibition company Roland Fleck drew a historical comparison: “With turnover of around 204 million Euro and a de-facto balanced result within the corporation, the NürnbergMesse Group has set a new record for an uneven financial year: clearly exceeding the turnover and results expectations is the best proof of NürnbergMesse’s high dynamism. With our tailor-made offers we provide exhibitors and visitors with genuine value-added; with the turnover and results we have achieved, we are ensuring vice versa that the value of NürnbergMesse will increase further.”
The first half of 2016 confirms this record course. All 10 international trade fairs and exhibitions concluded with an increase – seven out of the ten even with superlative results in all the relevant categories “Exhibitors”, “Visitors” and “Exhibition space”. “According to the latest figures, in the core segment of international and national trade fairs and exhibitions, we have registered 6 percent more exhibitors, 7 percent more visitors and a 5 percent increase in booked stand space compared to the previous event. Looking at the record turnover target of 250 million Euro, we are right on course”, said Fleck. Peter Ottmann referred to the high innovative power of NürnbergMesse: “In Brazil, India and China we have launched new formats – with consistently positive results.” And at the Nuremberg home location too, very promising new events are being launched – namely Retro Classic©Bavaria (9 – 11 December 2016), Net.Law.S (21 – 22 February 2017) and Mt-Connect (21 – 22 June 2017).
According to Peter Ottmann, in addition to the classic event business, mastering the balancing act between record investments in the exhibition centre Nuremberg, such as the current 70 million Euro for the new Hall 3C alone and the central challenge of digitization in all its dimensions, is also of strategic significance for NürnbergMesse, its products and also its customers
