Scm at Salone del Mobile as sponsor of Design Award promoted by Riva 1920

Scm Group at Salone del Mobile.Milano as a sponsor of the Design Award “Turn on your idea” promoted by Riva1920. The award was attended by President Giovanni Gemmani.
The group was also present at the Giovanni Sacchi archive of Sesto San Giovanni for a series of workshops with the woodworking school “La Malaspina”.
The awards ceremony took place on Friday, April 7. Representing the group, President Giovanni Gemmani, who delivered the Scm prize for the third ranked Under 26, to Indian Bibimariyam Mussakhanova for the “Pine Cone Chair” project.
“With its participation in this prestigious award,” said Giovanni Gemmani, “Scm Group wants to make concrete contribution to the growth of young designers and, of course, to the entire furniture industry, which is the main customer base of our company. In addition, with our presence, we confirm the historic link with Riva1920, a company that represents the industry’s excellence. ”
The Scm Group Award has been selected by Maurizio and Davide Riva for its representative form of the rich machining achievements with the advanced numerical control technology of the group. At its 4th edition, the contest of ideas – open to two classes of participation, Under and Over 26 – aimed at designing a new solid chair that will enrich the respective line of the extensive portfolio of Riva 1920 products.
This year, too, there has been an extraordinary membership that saw more than 600 projects coming from all over the world. The competition has won six winners – three for each category. In addition, two special prizes were awarded, sponsored by Riva1920 and Lamborghini.
The initiative saw Scm Group alongside one of the most well-known and renowned Italian design companies like Riva 1920, to which it is linked by a historic relationship. Scm Group, in fact, supplies Riva1920 with its woodworking technologies, including a 5-axis rotary center “Routech Chronos HT”, for manufacturing Cantù’s company iconic furniture products.
