More than 250 architects, interior designers and furniture manufacturers participated in the first “Wood Design & Technology Seminar” held in Cairo on 27 September and organized by Woodtech Egypt Exhibition, Medexpo and the Chamber of Commerce Damietta (Furniture sector. The second step will be Woodtech Forum, during these days, from November 11th to 13th in Damietta: two events in order to build the biggest consent before the first edition of Woodtech Egypt – Timber, design and furniture Exhibition, that will be held in Cairo in February. The managers of Woodtech Egypt defined a very ambitious project before the timber, design and furniture technology exhibition in February, a “series” of meetings that are going to convey in this innovative project all the interested cathegories, by offering opportunities to achieve knowledge and information.
This is what happened during the first “Wood Design & Technology Seminar”, held at “Renaissance Cairo Mirage City Hotel”, which was hardly requested by the sector industry but – above all – by the Egyptian Architects and Designers Association, from now between the protagonist of the “Woodtech Egypt” events. Well-known relators attracted a deeply involved public not only from Egypt and the nearest countries, but also designers, enterpreneurs, operators, furniture manufacturers and business associates from countries which are deeply interested in “Woodtech Egypt” events, such as Angola, Zambia, Uganda, Ghana, Avory Coast, Rwanda. Materials, decorations and tendences have been showed to the more than 250 architects and interior designers by well-known relators – such as the designer Cherif Morsi, extremely famous in Egypt; the engineer Yahia Elgizawy, who knows all the furniture technologies; Andreas Bachmeier from Schattdecor and the Italian architect Maurizio Favetta…
A new appointment from November 11th to 13th is the Woodtech Forum, the big B2B event on its second edition that allows the entire furniture and wood working sector to meet in its capital, the area Damietta, that the Egyptian government transformed into the country’s biggest district dedicated to the furniture production. Businessmen, designers and personalities coming from everywhere in Europe will take these three days chance to talk about the most relevant themes, such as the use and transformation of wood; these are topics that the Egyptian market – and generally the African continent – are looking at with great attention. Brands like Blum, Egger, Hettich, Scm Group, Kastamonu and Hafele will take part at the event.
The third and most important step will surely be the first edition of Woodtech Egypt – Timber, design and furniture Exhibition, that will be held at CICC-Cairo International Convention Centre from next February 16th to 18th. Woodtech Egypt will host the “Epf for Africa” forum, a deepening day between the most important panels producers that take part in Epf- European Panel Federation and the biggest furniture producers and wood traders from the African continent, an industry that in this area is living and extremely fast evolution.
