Ernestomeda obtained the certification for the Circularity of the Product, attested by the Cosmob certification body, author of its own technical specification “Cosmob Qualitas Praemium – Circularity of the furniture product”, in compliance with legislation on environmental declarations UNI EN ISO 14021. This new certification, which is part of a virtuous path undertaken by the company, attests the constant commitment of the brand towards the environment and the attention placed within the production process awareness of the importance and weight that current choices will have on the future world.
Ernestomeda, with a view to environmental sustainability, pays great attention to many aspects, including the quantity and diversity of the materials used, the use of sustainable materials, the reduction of process impacts, the increase in the useful life period of the product, attention to the end of the product life cycle, up to the reduction of consumption, thanks to an approach strongly oriented towards eco-design, useful for evaluating the entire life cycle of the product in advance, in order to pursue the objective of greater circularity of the product itself.
From the measurement of circularity carried out and certified by Cosmob on Ernestomeda products, excellent results emerged: for furnishings with glass doors, the material circularity is around 99 percent, with 98 percent of materials destined for recycling once the life cycle of the product is exhausted; even for furnishings with lacquered doors, 89 percent produced with materials from renewable sources, the material circularity is 99 percent, with a 98 percent recycling rate at the end of the product’s life. Excellent results also obtained from furnishings with veneered doors – material circularity of 98 percent, production from materials 89 percent from renewable sources, percentage of recycling at the end of the product life equal to 97 percent – and from those with doors in melamine / laminate: also in this case, the material circularity is 98 percent and the percentage of recyclable material at the end of the product’s life cycle is 97 percent.
