Messe Frankfurt: canceled fairs scheduled in January/February

12/01/2022

The cancellations and postponements of the international trade fair calendar continue. And after the Koelnmesse fairs, it’s up to Messe Frankfurt to raise the white flag due to the recent developments of the pandemic.

Although the lockdown for the unvaccinated people has slowed its course, in recent weeks the pace has begun to grow again, even exceeding 80 thousand infections a day. This, combined with the uncertainties about the movements that may derive from it, prompted the German trade fair body to cancel all the fairs scheduled between January and February, including Ambiente.

Furthermore, the next editions are not scheduled for 2022, but will scale directly to 2023. “The order cycles of the international consumer goods industry require an annual event at the beginning of the year, a shift to the second half of the year would not meet the needs of exhibiting companies and visitors”,said Detlef Braun, member of the executive committee of Messe Frankfurt, when asked about future event dates.
