Sustainability has many different facets, and in order to be able to start (or pursue) a sustainable approach, a 360-degree view of the issue is required. In order to move toward greater and greater “sustainability”, the well-known German adhesives manufacturer Jowat has launched its new “Green Adhesives” line. These new adhesives are made from renewable raw materials, in order to make bonding applications in furniture and buildings more sustainable, taking into account a wide range of aspects.
The green product portfolio is tailored to meet all areas of interest: renewable raw materials, employee and consumer safety, and resource conservation. Therefore, the “Grow” product line offers a wide range of adhesives, made from biological or recycled materials. Reactive Pur hot melt adhesives have risk-free labeling from the “Jowatherm-Reaktant MR” series, and they promote safety in the workplace; furthermore they avoid the costs for additional training of processors prescribed by the EU. Special hot melt adhesives with low processing temperatures and high yield facilitate resource-saving production processes, and low-emission adhesives promote consumer safety.
“Jowat’s “Green Adhesives” offer an advantage not only to furniture industry companies, but also to manufacturers of building elements and materials. They are strong adhesives that facilitate sustainable and efficient construction and renovation, due to their wide range of applications, fully in line with the spirit of the European Green Deal,” commented the company in the press release that launched its participation at the upcoming edition of Ligna.
Specifically, the “Jowatherm-Reaktant Mr” line includes “Jowatherm-Reaktant Mr 607.90”, a hot melt adhesive with reduced monomer content for edgebanding. It can be used to glue consolidated edges with passthrough edgebanding machines, and it is also supplied in a Pur granulate form.
Along the same lines, Jowat also presented “Jowatherm-Reaktant Mr 608.90,” a type of adhesive for high-quality bonding with virtually invisible joint lines for higher quality furniture design.
