Ddl Made in Italy: satisfaction for the wood-furniture supply chain

If press reports are confirmed that the Made in Italy decree envisages the establishment of a Mimit fund for 2024 dedicated to the 100 per cent national wood-furniture supply chain, the promotion and support of forest nurseries, the creation and strengthening of forestry companies and the wood-processing industry by increasing their technological and digital level and the creation of automated production systems along the production chain, we can only be extremely satisfied”.

Claudio Feltrin, president of FederlegnoArredo, expressed definite satisfaction, should the government’s new decree also include a fund dedicated to the wood-furniture supply chain.
This is a result for which FederlegnoArredo has worked tirelessly, together with the institutions and the government, to enhance the supply chain and the companies it represents, with the aim of becoming increasingly competitive and less dependent on the import of wood raw materials from abroad. First ‘Covid’ and then the war,’ added Feltrin, ‘have shown us how fragile our supply chains can be when the geopolitical landscape changes: starting a path that aims at a short and autonomous supply chain is the right direction. Our hope is that what has been announced will indeed be confirmed in the text that will come out of the Cdm, and for this we thank all those who will make it possible. It is a fundamental step in the interest not only of our sector, but of the entire country system. Having worked with a supply chain perspective, I believe it was the best approach to find a shared strategic solution”.
