Motion controls market declines

According to the just-released Interact Analysis report “Motion Controls Market – 2024,” the global market for “motion controls” (the devices designed to monitor engine operation, ed.) dropped 6.9 percent in terms of sales in 2024, resulting in a loss of more than $900 million. With revenues of $12.3 billion in 2024, this loss follows a period of unprecedented growth. Although this drop had a negative impact on the market, the long-term compound annual growth rate (CAGR) was essentially unchanged at 3.5 percent, indicating a rebalancing of the market rather than something worse. Characterized by low manufacturing output and a significant “destocking” event, 2024 was a difficult year for motion control suppliers.
