Remmers launches Induline IW-130: the first biocide-free wood preservative for windows, fully aligned with the principles of the circular economy

In a construction industry increasingly focused on environmental sustainability and reducing ecological impact, Remmers presents Induline IW-130, an innovative, biocide-free wood preservative designed to concretely support the goals of the circular economy.

Traditionally, wood protection against fungi and moisture has relied on biocides—effective, but controversial substances due to their environmental and health implications. “Induline IW-130” marks a radical shift: long-lasting wood protection without environmental compromise. Thanks to its advanced formulation, it penetrates deeply to create a highly effective hydrophobic barrier, safeguarding the wood against decay and blue-stain fungi while preserving its natural appearance.

The absence of biocides not only makes the product safer for applicators, but also enables a more sustainable lifecycle for wooden frames, which become easier to recycle and fully aligned with Cradle to Cradle principles.

“Induline IW-130” also meets the minimum environmental criteria (cam) required for public tenders in sustainable construction and has been successfully tested by Catas, one of Europe’s most respected testing laboratories for wood construction products. These certifications confirm the product’s technical reliability and its suitability for projects with high sustainability and safety standards.

“Induline IW-130 represents our vision of responsible innovation. It’s a concrete response to the needs of the wooden window and door industry, which is increasingly looking for solutions that comply with stricter environmental regulations,” said Natascia Rossetto, Marketing Manager at Remmers Italia.

This new wood preservative joins Remmers’ growing range of solutions designed for an increasingly circular building industry, in line with EU directives and the goals of the Green Deal.
