Xylexpo 2026: here is the agenda!

24/02/2026

First previews of the schedule of meetings and side events that will enliven the 2026 edition of Xylexpo, content that will also be shared through the “Xylexpo Digital” channel. The now traditional appointment with the Xylexpo Arena returns, a multimedia space that will be set up in Hall 18 and will host all the in-depth sessions, meetings, round tables and events that will animate the 2026 edition of the international biennial dedicated to technologies for wood processing and the furniture industry, scheduled from 9 to 12 June at FieraMilano-Rho.

9 June: TIMBER CONSTRUCTION

This year again, the organizers have chosen to highlight specific themes, putting the spotlight on particular sectors and processes. Starting with 9 June, dedicated to timber construction, which will mark the beginning of an important collaboration with the prestigious Holzbau Forum, an organization that needs no introduction and that for thirty years has organized leading events worldwide on timber construction.

Holzbau Forum Italia at Xylexpo will begin at 11:00 and conclude at 14:30, featuring Giuseppe Mosconi (CQ-Costruire in Qualità, Verona),
Laura Marsillo (ICD/CA – Institute for Computational Design and Construction, University of Stuttgart, Germany), Andrea Pallaver (HSB Italia, Trento), Stefano Brunelli (Gropyus Technologies, Berlin), Walter Bauer (Bauer Holzbau, Satteldorf-Gröningen), Franco Piva (Ergodomus, Pergine Valsugana) and Francesco Marroni (LignoAlp-DamianiHolz&Ko, Bressanone, Italy).

In addition to the official opening ceremony scheduled for 11:30, the day’s program includes meetings and talk shows on the topic, involving experts, university professors and entrepreneurs.

10 June: DRYING

On Wednesday 10 June, the second day of the exhibition, the focus will be on drying. The highlight of the day – which will also include a talk show dedicated to the present and future of this process, with technicians, industry entrepreneurs and university professors – will be the presentation of the book “Manuale dell’essiccazione” (Drying Manual), published by Conlegno (a consortium committed to protecting forest heritage and biodiversity by promoting the use of wood, from raw material to packaging and structural timber) and produced in collaboration with the University of Florence, long recognized as one of the centers of excellence in wood science and related processes.

11 June: FINISHING

On Thursday 11 June, the third day of the exhibition, the focus will be on machines and processes dedicated to surface finishing, an area in which “Made in Italy” is unquestionably recognized as a global benchmark. In this case as well, the focal point of the day will be the presentation of a book, the “Manuale del rivestimento” (Coating Manual), which addresses a specific finishing procedure offering an increasingly valid alternative to the indispensable world of coating and painting. The volume, produced by Avisa – Federchimica’s Adhesives and Sealants Group, provides a comprehensive overview of the methods and specific features of this process, effectively representing a sort of “summa” on a subject that until now could rely on very limited literature.

Meetings and round tables dedicated to finishing will allow different experiences to be compared, with particular attention to the innovations that are and will be introduced into the world of coating by regulations that are increasingly focused on health and environmental sustainability.

12 June: TOOLS

The final day of the exhibition will revolve around tools, a subject whose fundamental importance in everything related to wood processing and its derivatives cannot be overstated. The program will include several sessions throughout the day to explore product-related topics, market dynamics and strategies that the tooling sector will necessarily have to adopt in order to face the challenges of a rapidly and profoundly changing era. The day’s program, still being finalized, will feature speakers representing institutions, universities and research centers active in this specific segment, along with direct testimonials from some of the most significant Italian manufacturers exhibiting at the show.

“COMPOSITES FUTURE”

On the second day of the exhibition, Wednesday 10 June, the side events program of “Composites Future” will also begin. This biennial conference-exhibition is the result of collaboration between Assocompositi, the Italian association for composites and related materials, Xylexpo and Plast, the international exhibition for the plastics and rubber industry, which this year will take place concurrently with the wood technology show.

The program dedicated to composite materials includes two key moments: from 10:00 to 11:30, in the Xylexpo Arena, the “Composites Future Academy” will offer an opportunity to explore topics related to these innovative materials, which are increasingly finding applications in the furniture and construction sectors, traditionally closer to wood as a raw material.

On Wednesday 10, the focus will be on materials classified as “composites”: what they are, how they are produced, what they are used for, the advantages they offer and how they can be processed.

These topics will be further explored in the afternoon from 14:30 to 16:00, in the “Composites Future Demo Area” (a specially set-up space in Hall 18, near the exhibition area dedicated to “Composites Future”), where visitors will be able to observe the stages involved in creating a composite material and the machines and equipment required.

Continuing with the composites theme, the following day, Thursday 11 June at 10:30, the Xylexpo Arena will host a session on how to shape these innovative materials, while in the afternoon – again from 14:30 to 16:00 – specific demos dedicated to modeling techniques and tools will take place in the “Demo Area”.

On Friday 12 June, the final day of the exhibition, the focus of “Composites Future” at the Xylexpo Arena, from 10:30 to 12:00, will be on the specific technologies required to process these materials. Technicians from companies that have made innovative materials a key component of their success in various sectors, from automotive to aerospace, will take part in the discussion.

In the afternoon, again in the “Demo Area” from 14:30 to 16:00, visitors will be able to attend hands-on workshops illustrating various specific processing methods.
