45,000 visitors at MaTec, 10,000 for Xylexpo/Composites Future

Figures confirm the first impressions. MaTec had a successful debut: 44,907 attendance was recorded in the four days of the event, from 9 to 12 June at the FieraMilano expo center, including 25 percent – more than 11,000 – from abroad. This figure reaffirms the success of the project that combined Plast, the exhibition of machinery and materials for the plastic and rubber industry, Xylexpo, the biennial showcase of wood and furniture industry technologies, and Composites Future, the first edition of the made-in-Italy expo-conference dedicated to the segment of composite materials, creating a new opportunity for strategic sectors of the Italian manufacturing industry.

In a business period strongly impacted by a really “complicated” global geopolitical scenario, the three exhibitions offered a valuable networking opportunity, also thanks to an intensive agenda of events, insights, roundtable discussions and meetings that expanded the business focus.

The results were encouraging also for Xylexpo and Composites Future: just above 10thousand visitors in halls 14 and 18, where the biennial exhibition of wood-furniture technologies and the expo-conference dedicated to composite materials coverd a 15-thousand-square-meter area. The combination of different industries turned out to be a successful move, to the benefit of exhibitors who expressed great satisfaction.

“The wood technology business and the entire economy are experiencing years of big difficulties that are also affecting exhibitions all over the world”, said Dario Corbetta, Xylexpo director. “We will continue to design exhibition formats that meet the requirements of industry companies, who are approaching these events with an attitude and needs that are totally different from the past”.
