
Holzmesse Klagenfurt 2026: more than 22,000 visitors
The 58th edition of the Internationale Holzmesse in Klagenfurt, dedicated to the wood and forestry supply chain, closed on September 5.
According to figures released by the organisers, the event recorded more than 22,000 trade visitors, with over 500 exhibitors from around 20 countries across 50,000 square metres of exhibition space.
International participation included operators and delegations from South Korea, Ethiopia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Italy, Germany, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Croatia.
Among the main areas of interest highlighted by the visitor survey were forestry technologies, mentioned by 49 per cent of respondents, followed by sawmill and drying technology at 42.2 per cent and woodworking and carpentry equipment at 37 per cent. Transport and logistics accounted for 32 per cent.
The exhibition also covered timber construction, sawmill technologies, bioenergy, transport and logistics, with live demonstrations and areas dedicated to practical applications. A specific section, Holz&Bau, focused on timber construction and on the needs of carpenters, joiners and industry professionals.
During the event, the “Goldene Fichte” award was presented to Hugo Karre and Stefan Rubner for their contribution to trade relations between Austria and Italy.
The next edition of the Internationale Holzmesse in Klagenfurt will take place from August 30 to September 2, 2028.
