Raute, EUR 31 million order to expand plywood production in Estonia

Raute ha firmato contratti per un valore complessivo di circa 31 milioni di euro con l’estone Raute has signed contracts worth a total of approximately EUR 31 million with Estonia-based Kohila Vineer OÜ, part of the Latvijas Finieris Group, for the supply of technologies aimed at expanding plywood production.

The total value includes several orders received during the third quarter of 2026. With the signing of the final delivery contract on 14 September, the project has now become fully effective.

The order includes a broad package of production lines and supporting technologies for veneer processing and plywood manufacturing. The solution combines Raute’s “R5” series technologies with its latest automated “R7” systems across several stages of the production process.

More specifically, the delivery includes a veneer drying and grading line, a scarf-jointing line, the modernisation of the patching line, as well as systems for plywood lay-up, pre-pressing, hot pressing, repairing and overlaying.

Raute will also provide installation supervision, commissioning and support during the start-up phase, while the installation itself will be carried out directly by the customer.

Deliveries are scheduled between the second half of 2027 and the first quarter of 2028, with the production lines to be started up gradually from autumn 2027 onwards.

Kohila Vineer OÜ is part of the Latvijas Finieris Group, an international company specialising in the development, production and sales of birch plywood under the Riga Wood brand. The Group operates plywood and veneer production facilities in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Finland, serving industrial customers worldwide.
