Spain: furniture export +14.3 percent in the first four months of 2013

The Spanish furniture industry has exported +14.3 percent in the first four months of 2013 compared to the same period last year. The export performance in the month of April was outstanding, with a growth of over 57 percent. In total, sales of furniture abroad in the first four months of the year amounted to 510 million euro. At the same time, imports for the sector amounted to 641.7 million euros, down 7.6 percent.
The autonomous region of Catalonia continues to be the largest exporter with 130.9 million Euros, equivalent to 25.7 percent of the total nationwide, but with a decrease of 2.4 percent compared to 2012.
