A successful year for Siempelkamp

G.Siempelkamp GmbH & Co. KG can look back on a highly successful business year in 2011: with a share of 700 million Euros in group sales, the medium-sized company headquartered in Krefeld, Germany, increased revenues compared to last year’s results. New orders amounting to 600 million Euros and a current order backlog of 1 billion Euros result in full capacity utilization of all production facilities until the end of 2013.

With its three business units including machine and plant engineering, foundry technology and nuclear technology, Siempelkamp is among the best in the world. Innovative solutions and clear competitive advantages for the customer is the company’s winning strategy. “Sales in 2011 prove that we are on the right track with our technologies and the decision to enter new markets. Thus, we are able to secure and further expand our market position in the long term,” says Hans W. Fechner, spokesman of the management board of the Siempelkamp Group.

With new orders totaling approx. 400 million Euros for press systems for the wood-based products, the metal forming and the rubber industries, Siempelkamp’s machine and plant engineering business has been successful in all areas.

The 2011 business year was characterized by numerous innovations. With additional pressure distribution plates, the new “ContiRoll® generation 8” provides for optimized pressure distribution and reduced raw material consumption. The latest press generation was ordered by three customers including Mdf producer Frati, Italy, as well as Duratex and Egger.

Another Siempelkamp innovation in 2011 is the “Ecoresinator” blending system which provides resin savings of up to 15 percent. Six systems have been sold already; more orders are expected to be placed. A new high-performance short-cycle press “Kt 700” was sold to the long standing customer Egger.

Siempelkamp’s manufacturing facilities are located in emerging markets. All production locations recorded an excellent capacity utilization in 2011 and achieved a new record high with a collective total of approx. 1.4 million working hours!
