A new university master’s degree for the design of buildings and structural works in wood. This is the new project shared by Assolegno<\/strong>, the University of Florence<\/strong> and the University of Trento<\/strong>. A new project that brings together the academic excellences “of wood” to work, from a green perspective, in an increasingly sustainable way. “By 2050<\/em>“, explained Angelo Luigi Marchetti<\/strong>, president of Assolegno of FederlegnoArredo, “the transition towards a green economy with low carbon emissions can generate, according to the European Commission, 60 million new green jobs globally.\u00a0 Our supply chain \u2013 which fits perfectly into a framework of sustainability and decarbonisation of the construction sector \u2013 therefore needs to respond to increasingly high engineering and technological challenges<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

The Master’s Degree Course ‘Design of Buildings and Structural Works in Wood<\/strong>‘ \u2013 for which the deadline for applications is 19 September \u2013 has a twofold objective: to familiarise professionals with the peculiarities of the material wood and to enhance them from an engineering and sustainable living perspective. “It is no coincidence that it has already attracted the interest of the most important industries in the sector, which have made themselves available to host students for the 300 hours of internship envisaged in the training plan<\/em>“, Assolegno says in the press release.<\/p>\n

“Activating this master’s course means bringing together industry, training, and research so that the market shares of Central Europe, which correspond to 30 per cent of the built environment<\/strong>, are ever closer and more conquerable. Within this framework \u2013 <\/em>Angelo Luigi Marchetti concludes \u2013 it will be essential to duplicate the workforce with the conviction that the human capital of future managers will be fundamental for building a quality, safe and sustainable construction industry from both an environmental and social point of view.
