LBA<\/span><\/b>®<\/sup>, that for more than 30 years has been developing and producing innovative abrasive systems and patented products for specific applications and surface finishing, is proud to present Finishing Lab®<\/b>, a research center <\/b>born from the collaboration with the Italian research institute CATAS<\/b> and with the main producers of sanding machines<\/b>, now collaborating 360 degrees with the architecture and design world<\/b> and in general with every research and development entities focused on surface finishing. The aim of the lab is to create new finishes<\/b> achievable through simple production processes, in a synergy between sanding machines, innovative abrasive belts<\/b> and human creativity.<\/span>
\nAmong the successes of Finishing Lab<\/b><\/span>®<\/span><\/b>, there are four  <\/span>innovative<\/span><\/b> finishes<\/b> that have already various applications in the production of wooden floors and pre-finished parquets, panels, interior<\/b> doors and cabinet doors for kitchen, bathroom, living and sleeping areas<\/b>.
\nThe Saw Effect<\/b>: the microporous surface is furrowed crosswise with a regular or casual pattern that conveys  <\/span>a highly tactile and ‘aged’ look. The Pickled Effect:<\/span><\/b> the varnishing product is partly sanded and remains only on deep pores and on grains, creating an elegant vintage effect.<\/span> The Skived Effect:<\/span><\/b> very smooth nicks, like sand dunes,  <\/span>give a three dimensional look to the wood surface.<\/span> The <\/span><\/b>Scratched Effect: <\/span><\/b>a delicate fabric-like pattern made by longitudinal scratches.<\/span> <\/span>The main contribution of Finishing Lab®<\/b> is to allow the automation and internalisation of production processes<\/b> that are typically handcrafted and made in outsourcing, with a fast and low-cost set-up phase<\/b> and without compromising finishing results.<\/span> In comparison with the usual production systems, these processes are easily implementable<\/b>, as they plan the use of automatic sanding machines with longitudinal and cross sanding belt units, that are usually already part of the main industrial plants producing furnishings and components.<\/span> <\/span>Thanks to these processes, a lot of finishes can be easily achieved<\/b>, ready to be processed with further treatments such as antiquing, brushing, painting, oiling and varnishing, multiplying<\/b> the expressive possibilities of wood and derivatives. In this way LBA® provides a substantial contribution not only in the sanding and finishing of the product, but also in the style research and in the choice of materials, and acts as a connective link between the manufacturing context and the design world<\/b>, multiplying the palette of finishes that inspire the creativity of architects and designers.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Finishging Lab<\/b><\/span>®<\/span><\/b> developed also the successful <\/span>Pickled Collection <\/span><\/b>a new way of conceiving the pickled finish playing with color contrasts like in an haute-couture atelier. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

But there’s more! The brand new collection of <\/span>“Wild Effects”<\/span><\/b> is here, inspired by the natural beauty of stone surfaces, by daydreams of exotic landscapes and by the unexpected patterns of Nature in its most fascinating and savage form. The collection is composed by the <\/span><\/span>Stone effect<\/span><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> reproducing the tactile and visual feel  <\/span>of a smooth stone and by the <\/b><\/span><\/span>Savanna<\/span><\/b> <\/span>effect<\/span><\/b>: <\/span><\/b>an eccentric zebra-like pattern.<\/span><\/p>\n
