On <b>July 8 and 9, 2014<\/b>, the first &#8220;<b>Bau Congress China<\/b>&#8221; will be taking place in Beijing. (<i><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bauchina.com\">www.bauchina.com<\/a><\/i>).<\/p>\n<div>The official organizer of Bau Congress China is Mmi Shanghai, Messe M&uuml;nchen&acute;s subsidiary in China; in the planning and implementation of the congress, Mmi Shanghai is working closely with the Bau 2015 team. &#8220;<i>Bau Congress China is a German-Chinese co-production supported by the know-how and network of Bau<\/i>,&#8221; explained Mirko Arend, Exhibition Director of Bau and Deputy business unit director at Messe M&uuml;nchen.<\/div>\n<div>The event takes place in the China National Convention Center and it is designed as a two-day congress with associated exhibition. This is a format that has already proven successful for Messe M&uuml;nchen in other events it has organized around the world. Day one of the congress focuses on sustainable urban development, and on day two, the emphasis switches to integrated planning and implementation of projects. The speakers will include internationally known planners and architects from China and Europe, all of whom are active in China and have gathered considerable experience of the situation in the country.<\/div>\n<div>In the exhibition section, the spotlight will be on high-quality building materials, components and construction solutions for the Chinese market.<\/div>\n<div>The organizers are expecting around 50 companies to take part, mainly from Europe and China, prominent among them the H&ouml;rmann Group, which is the industrial partner of the congress.<\/div>\n<div>Two of Bau&acute;s long-standing partners &ndash; the German sustainable building Council (Dgnb &ndash; <i>Deutsche<\/i><i> Gesellschaft f&uuml;r Nachhaltiges Bauen<\/i>) and the Fraunhofer building innovation Alliance &ndash; are also backing this project in China. Other partners of Bau Congress China include the publisher Bauverlag and the Archi-Europe Group with whom Bau has also been working very closely for many years.<\/div>\n<div>On the visitor side, Bau Congress China is targeting in particular the trade audience in China, specifically project developers, planners and building entrepreneurs, as well as leading representatives from government ministries, associations and research institutions.<\/div>\n<div>Reinhard Pfeiffer, Managing Director of Messe M&uuml;nchen, is confident that the time is ripe for a Bau event in China: &#8220;<i>Nowhere else is so much being built. Also, in China the emphasis is more and more on quality, and there is strong demand for top products. As a result, with Bau we will be able to offer real added value.
