{"id":19866,"date":"2013-09-25T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-09-24T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.xylon.it\/2013\/09\/25\/azionamenti-e-motori-emerson-al-porto-di-ravenna\/"},"modified":"2025-03-17T11:27:27","modified_gmt":"2025-03-17T10:27:27","slug":"azionamenti-e-motori-emerson-al-porto-di-ravenna","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.xylon.it\/en\/2013\/09\/25\/azionamenti-e-motori-emerson-al-porto-di-ravenna\/","title":{"rendered":"Drives and Motors from Emerson \nat the Port of Ravenna"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The recent installation of an <b>Emerson Industrial Automation<\/b> engineering solution involving drives, motors and crane control software has led to average energy savings of 25-30 percent on two ship-to-shore (STS) cranes at the Port of Ravenna on Italy&rsquo;s Adriatic Coast.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>The Port of Ravenna has chosen to use products from two Emerson Industrial Automation businesses: crane management system software, control system software and &ldquo;<b>Unidrive Spmd<\/b>&rdquo; hoist drives from Control Techniques; and &ldquo;<b>Fls<\/b>&#8221; hoist motors from Leroy-Somer.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Milena Fico, the General Manager of Terminal Container Ravenna (Tcr), the operator of the Port of Ravenna, says: &ldquo;<i>Our current investments at Tcr have been developed in order to prepare the port to take advantage of future opportunities.&nbsp; The innovative upgrades to Tcr&rsquo;s Sts cranes will improve competitiveness and will give it the ability to attract new business<\/i>.&rdquo;<\/div>\n<div><s><\/s><\/div>\n<div>Gianbattista Dubini, Director of Marketing, Cranes at Control Techniques, says: &ldquo;<i>The challenge of day-to-day operations in the busy environment of a container port can distract managers from the need to make basic equipment upgrades that can drastically improve efficiency and effectiveness.<\/i><\/div>\n<div><i>This is problematic because, to remain competitive, ports must continually improve efficiency.&nbsp; The Port of Ravenna is future-proofing their operations by upgrading to Emerson Industrial Automation&rsquo;s drives, motors and crane management software.&nbsp; The outcome of this upgrade is energy savings on the cranes of up to 30 percent<\/i>.&rdquo;<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The revamped cranes will have 17 container rows of operational capacity and a lifting capacity of 55 tons.&nbsp; Their height under the spreader is 34.5 meters.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The recent installation of an Emerson Industrial Automation engineering solution involving drives, motors and crane control software has led to average energy savings of 25-30 percent on two ship-to-shore (STS) [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[10],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-19866","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
