The event was held in a hall of about two thousand square meters which, besides the section on woodworking, hosted other concurrent exhibitions dedicated to technologies for the processing of metals and plastics.<br \/>\nThe exhibitors were about one hundred, mostly Taiwanese and Chinese. No local exhibitors were present. As of this moment, no official data about the number of visitors have reached us, but the performance was satisfactory from the quantitative point of view. Almost all of the visitors were local, with a high percentage coming from the capital Yangon, at the moment the only industrial center of the country.<br \/>\nAs regards to the exhibited machiney level, the technological offer was quite limited, with a clear prevalence of traditional Chinese and Taiwanese machines.<br \/>\nThe network of local dealers is almost non-existent. There are no figures able to distribute the machines within the context of European Burmese.<\/p>\n<div>Among the visitors also local companies operating in the woodworking, small woodworking shops, sawmills and factories producing wooden products. However, the amounts budgeted for investment on equipment are not able to consider almost all of the Italian or European technology, due to the high price range. In addition, the Cnc technology is not well known and the possible use would require a complete training for the operators.<br \/>\nThe latest opening to Western capital has not concealed at all the barriers to entry in the country: the lack of use of the circuit of credit, inadequate infrastructure and language barriers are obstacles to overcome.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It was held from December 21 to 24 in Yangon, Myanmar, the first edition of Burmawood, an event dedicated to wood technology.
