After two<\/span> <\/span>years since the<\/span><\/span> <\/span>“<\/span><\/span>Action Day”, the European Panel Federation<\/span> has<\/span> launched a<\/span> new<\/span> event<\/span> to bring<\/span> attention to the difficult<\/span> situation of wood based<\/span> panel industry due to the bad <\/span>management of<\/span> forest resources.<\/span> The action days are planned for<\/span> 28 and<\/span> 29 March<\/span> 2012 <\/b>and will be preceded<\/span> on<\/span> day 27<\/span> by a press conference<\/span> in Brussels where the members of European Parliament  more involved in the issues under discussion <\/span>will be invited<\/span> as well as the correspondents<\/span> of the leading<\/span> European newspapers<\/span>.
\n<\/span>The<\/span><\/span> <\/span>policy of subsidies<\/span><\/span> <\/span>to the<\/span><\/span> <\/span>woody<\/span><\/span> <\/span>biomass<\/span><\/span> plants <\/span>has in fact led<\/span><\/span> <\/span>to a constant<\/span><\/span> <\/span>shortage of<\/span><\/span> <\/span>raw material that<\/span><\/span> <\/span>could endanger<\/span><\/span> <\/span>an industry that<\/span><\/span> <\/span>deals<\/span><\/span> <\/span>in Europe<\/span><\/span> <\/span>2.5 million jobs<\/span><\/span>.Two<\/span> years ago<\/span> the<\/span> plants <\/span>had been stopped<\/span> for two<\/span> hours,<\/span> this year<\/span> will be<\/span> held two<\/span> days<\/span> of events to<\/span> raise awareness among European and national institutions<\/span> to a<\/span> more balanced management<\/span> of forest resources<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the meeting of 27 March, president of Epf, Ladislaus Dory, taking a cue from the “Ten Rules” made by the wood associations of FederlegnoArredo (Assopannelli, Assolegno, Assoimballaggi, Fedecomlegno) <\/span>will present the federation proposals<\/span> to the members of European Parliament<\/span> and the national institutions<\/span> to<\/span> ensure they take steps for the <\/span>approval<\/span> of legislation<\/span> that enhance<\/span> the use<\/span> of wood for<\/span> industrial purposes<\/span> by burning<\/span> at the end<\/span> of its life cycle<\/span>.<\/span>

\nOn 28<\/span><\/span> <\/span>and 29<\/span><\/span> <\/span>March<\/span> <\/span>all European members<\/span> <\/span>will receive a wooden cube<\/span><\/span>, which will report<\/span> on its six<\/span> faces<\/span> some posts<\/span> for using wood in a more<\/span> “<\/span>balanced” way. Together with the<\/span> cubes<\/span> will be given a<\/span> letter that will explain<\/span> the reasons for the<\/span> protest signed<\/span> “<\/span>European Wood Products Sector<\/span>” showing <\/span>logos of the associations supportino the <\/span>“Action<\/span> Days<\/span>“.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
