{"id":26456,"date":"2025-10-30T11:47:56","date_gmt":"2025-10-30T10:47:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.xylon.it\/2025\/10\/30\/eudr-federlegnoarredo-sottoscrive-richiesta-federazioni-europee-su-stop-the-clock\/"},"modified":"2025-12-09T16:59:34","modified_gmt":"2025-12-09T15:59:34","slug":"eudr-federlegnoarredo-sottoscrive-richiesta-federazioni-europee-su-stop-the-clock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.xylon.it\/en\/2025\/10\/30\/eudr-federlegnoarredo-sottoscrive-richiesta-federazioni-europee-su-stop-the-clock\/","title":{"rendered":"Eudr: FederlegnoArredo signs joint request from European federations on \u201cstop the clock\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FederlegnoArredo also joins the main European Federations of the wood-furniture supply chain in the open statement regarding the recent amendments proposed by the European Commission to the EU Deforestation Regulation (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.xylon.it\/en\/2025\/10\/28\/le-segherie-europee-chiedono-di-fermare-lorologio-sulleudr\/\">as we reported here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The federation has joined the call to introduce a <strong>\u201csuspension\u201d mechanism (\u201cstop the clock\u201d)<\/strong> that &#8220;<em>would <strong>allow for a thorough review of the Regulation, simplifying its requirements<\/strong> and making them <strong>truly feasible<\/strong> for all companies, particularly for small and medium-sized ones, while at the same time safeguarding our shared goal of combating deforestation<\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>FederlegnoArredo also underlined that <strong>\u201c&#8230;<\/strong><em>further amendments or <strong>reopenings<\/strong> of the dossier could entail the risk of a return to the Regulation\u2019s original version<\/em><em>, characterized by even more restrictive and difficult-to-apply provisions, with potentially very negative effects on the entire European wood-furniture supply chain.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>The effectiveness of any European legislative framework \u2013<\/em>\u00a0commented <strong>Claudio Feltrin<\/strong>, President of FederlegnoArredo \u2013 <em>depends on its practicality, legal clarity, and consistency. The proposed amendments, and the extremely tight implementation schedule, risk undermining the Regulation\u2019s actual applicability and placing our companies in an unsustainable position of uncertainty.<br \/>\nWe therefore call on the Italian Government<\/em>, concluded Feltrin, <em>to continue representing these concerns before the European institutions, so that a clear, coherent, and sustainable regulatory framework for the entire wood-furniture supply chain is ensured, while at the same time protecting competitiveness, investment, and employment.
