In the first six months of the year, the German group recorded a 7 percent decline in order intake and a 9 percent decrease in sales, while profitability remained broadly stable.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The market for woodworking and furniture production technologies continues to be affected by weak demand. In the first half of 2026, <strong>Homag Group<\/strong> recorded a decline in both order intake and sales compared with the same period of the previous year, against a backdrop that the company continues to describe as particularly challenging.<br \/>\nBetween January and June, order intake amounted to \u20ac634 million, representing a <strong>decline of approximately 7 percent<\/strong> compared with \u20ac683 million in the first half of 2025.<br \/>\n\u201c<em>We continue to see no signs of a significant recovery in customer demand<\/em>,\u201d explained <strong>Daniel Schmitt<\/strong>, Chief Executive Officer of Homag Group. \u201c<em>The postponement of investments by furniture manufacturers is affecting the entire industry<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As of June 30, 2026, the group\u2019s order backlog amounted to \u20ac726 million, a figure broadly in line with the \u20ac734 million recorded on the same date in 2025.<br \/>\nSales were also affected by the market situation. In the first six months of the year, revenue decreased by approximately 9 percent, falling from \u20ac687 million in 2025 to \u20ac626 million.<br \/>\nEBIT before extraordinary effects amounted to \u20ac25 million, compared with \u20ac28.3 million in the same period of the previous year. The EBIT margin nevertheless remained broadly stable, moving from 4.1 to 4 percent, also thanks to the improvement recorded during the second quarter.<br \/>\n\u201c<em>In terms of profitability, we are benefiting from the cost-reduction measures already implemented and from particularly careful cost management<\/em>,\u201d Schmitt added.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of June 2026, Homag Group employed 6,697 people, down from 6,928 in the same period of 2025.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The challenging market environment continues to hold back investment in the furniture industry.
