It is within this technical and production environment that Officine Meccaniche Nerli<\/strong> operates, a company specialising in the design and manufacture of sanding and brushing machines for wood. The company has built its identity around a very practical principle: a good finish begins before the finishing stage itself, with the ability to prepare the substrate uniformly, consistently and repeatably.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s history dates back to the post-war period. Officine Meccaniche Nerli was established in 1959 by Pietro and Vittorio Nerli, continuing the activities of Nerli Liberale e Figli, founded in 1945. By the late 1940s, the family was already operating in the field of mechanical equipment for woodworking, developing traditional machinery for joineries and companies in the sector. The turning point came at the end of the 1950s, with the idea of producing a new generation of robust and reliable sanding machines, designed not only to process the material, but also to improve the quality of the finished workpiece.<\/p>\n

Since then, sanding has remained at the heart of Nerli\u2019s offering. Over time, the company has consolidated a range designed to meet different production requirements, from cross-belt sanding machines and longitudinal sanding machines to brushing machines. These machines are intended for companies processing panels, components and surfaces that must reach the finishing stage with consistent and controlled characteristics.\"\"
\n“The quality of our machines is our main strength<\/em>“, explains Ciro Nerli<\/strong>, who currently leads the Tuscan company. “We continuously invest in new technologies to respond to changes in the market. This approach enables the company to offer reliable, efficient products designed to last over time<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n

THE TECHNOLOGICAL OFFERING<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Nerli range includes cross-belt sanding machines, longitudinal sanding machines and brushing machines. The former are designed for applications in which uniformity, surface control and sanding quality play a decisive role, while longitudinal sanding machines meet production requirements linked to the continuity<\/strong> of the workflow and the handling of the workpiece along the direction of travel. Brushing machines complete the range, performing cleaning, surface finishing, texturing and substrate preparation operations.
\n<\/strong>The common objective is to build robust machines designed for continuous industrial use and capable of adapting to different materials and applications. Woodworking is no longer limited to traditional solid wood, but also includes panels, decorative surfaces, coated or uncoated elements and components requiring increasingly precise preparation. In this context, sanding is not an ancillary operation, but a stage that directly affects final quality, waste reduction and process stability.
\n<\/strong>One of the company\u2019s distinctive features is its ability to manage the different stages of machine construction in-house. The production site covers a total area of 10,000 square metres, of which 2,800 are covered, and is equipped with machine tools that allow manufacturing processes to be carried out internally, from structural steelwork to CNC machining. Translated into more industrial terms, these elements highlight a specific issue: in the woodworking sector, a machine is no longer assessed solely on the basis of its nominal performance, but also on its ability to integrate consistently into the customer\u2019s production process.
\n<\/strong>\u201cA sanding machine must ensure continuity, ease of use, limited maintenance and repeatable results. Installation, commissioning, technical service and the ability to provide support over time become an integral part of the solution\u2019s value. This is particularly important for machines operating at a delicate stage of the production cycle: when a surface has not been prepared correctly, the problem often only becomes apparent later, during coating or quality control.
