Through the acquisition of a minority stake, Egger<\/strong> is entering the share capital of Sinowolf<\/strong>, a Chinese manufacturer specialising in edge banding for the furniture industry. The transaction is aimed at strengthening the international presence of both groups in an increasingly global market, without changing the operating structure of the Chinese company, which will continue to operate under its own brand and with its existing organisation.<\/p>\n

Founded in 2007, Sinowolf operates two production sites in China, in Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province, and Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, with a declared total production capacity of around 1 billion metres of edge banding per year<\/strong>. The company exports to more than 30 countries and manufactures pvc, abs, pp and pmma edge banding, combining traditional production with digital printing and laser-edge technologies. More recently, it has also expanded into surface materials.<\/p>\n

For Egger, the transaction adds production capacity, regional flexibility and specific expertise in a segment in which the group is already active through its competence centres in Gebze, Turkey, and Brilon, Germany. For Sinowolf, Egger\u2019s investment opens up new opportunities in international markets while preserving the company\u2019s management autonomy and identity.\"\"<\/p>\n

Through the partnership with Sinowolf, we are bringing together complementary expertise in technology, manufacturing know-how and market access<\/em>,\u201d said Thomas Leissing<\/strong>, CFO of Egger. \u201cAt the same time, it is important to us that Sinowolf remains independently managed, with its own identity and entrepreneurial spirit<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Complementary expertise<\/h3>\n

Egger\u2019s international presence and the group\u2019s expertise in decorative products, surfaces, wood-based materials and edge banding are combined with Sinowolf\u2019s manufacturing know-how, production flexibility, capabilities in digital printing, laser-edge technology development and customised product matching.<\/p>\n

The aim is to strengthen the two companies\u2019 presence in key international markets and make local customer service more flexible, supported by a broader production network and a wider pool of technical expertise.<\/p>\n

Sinowolf remains independent<\/h3>\n

One of the key elements of the agreement is the continued operational independence of the Chinese company. Sinowolf will continue to operate under its own brand, retain responsibility for its activities and maintain its existing commercial relationships.<\/p>\n

The transaction therefore does not involve the integration of Sinowolf into the Egger Group, but rather an industrial partnership built around complementary expertise and a broader international presence.
