Premiere: “Food contact coatings”

For the first time, the European coatings conference dedicated to “Food contact coatings” will take place in Berlin, Germany, from June 12th-13th 2008.
The most important application category for food contact materials are coatings and inks used in food packaging with respect to the potential for migration to occur. Food safety is of high importance; migration of coatings components into foodstuff is a subject of increasing interest and an important aspect of food packaging because of the possible hazardous effects on human health.
Focusing on developments in raw materials and inks as well as on current legislation, the conference will provide with ideal networking opportunities and up-to-date information. This premiere will present 11 high-level technical papers, given by invited international experts, on topics such as prevention of photoinitiator migration, raw materials for food contact coatings, anti-fogging and printed oxygen indicators.
