German woodworking machinery: situation is improving further

The situation of the woodworking machinery industry in Germany is improving further. Business is not back to the record levels of 2007-2008, but forecasts are more than positive.
Forecasts from last spring, announcing a 10-15 percent increase, have been corrected upwards, though with caution: for the current year, orders are expected to increase at least by 18 percent.
However, a portion of these orders will not turn into revenues before the end of the year, due to the increased workload of manufacturers and the fact that most orders are for large plants.
This trend has mainly pushed export to Asia and Eastern Europe, but also the German market has brought orders for large plants in the furniture industry.
