Wemhöner continues to grow

In the fiscal year 2014, Wemhöner Surface Technologies (Herford) and Wemhöner (Changzhou) Machinery (Changzhou) again considerably increased their turnover to € 120 million (2013: € 103 million).

Specializing in machinery and equipment for the upgrading of wood-based materials, the family business currently employs 480 people (including 180 in China). The major growth driver was the company in China. There the existing capacities are nearly exhausted. Therefore, in June this year, the foundation for another plant in Changzhou City will be laid. This new facility is scheduled to start production in early 2016. Through this Wemhöner will be well positioned for the next few years to meet the growing demand for high quality equipment in Asia (especially in China).

During the Ligna fair in Hanover in a few weeks, Wemhöner will show technology such as short-cycle press lines and 3D “Variopress” plants from their traditional portfolio. In addition the latest digital printing technology and lacquering technology will be presented to the qualified audience.

For the year 2015, in which the 100th year anniversary (90 years in Herford and 10 years Changzhou) will be celebrated, Wemhoener looks well positioned through the existing order volume and the significant investment in new technologies.
