Ucimu: in 2015 full recovery for Italian machine tool industry

Closed in a very positive way the year 2015 for the Italian industry of machine tools that records a double-digit increases for almost all key economic indicators. Also positive are the forecasts for 2016 that will extend the favorable trend. This is the scenario outlined by president Luigi Galdabini, during the year-end press conference of Ucimu-Sistemi per produrre.
From the preliminary figures processed by the Centre Studies of Enterprise Culture of Ucimu, in 2015 production increased to 5,430 million euro, marking an increase of 12.2 percent over the previous year.
This result was made possible both by the good performance of exports and from deliveries by manufacturers in the Italian market, confirming the recovery of the investments already started in 2014.
A decisive factor was the growth of the consumption of Italian machine tools for a total of 3,595 million euro, an increase of 31.3 percent over the previous year. The revival in demand for production systems has awarded either the deliveries by manufacturers, rose to 1,920 million euro (21 percent more than the previous year), as well as imports, grown by 45.5 percent, to 1,675 million euro.
After the setback marked last year, in 2015 exports increased again so well, recording an increase of 7.9 percent, to 3.51 billion euro.
