Ucimu, falling orders: Carboniero writes to the government

“A year of drop back is confirmed for Italian manufacturers”. Massimo Carboniero, president of Ucimu, comments in this way on the drop in orders for machine tools that in the third quarter exceeded 18 percent, due to the negative trend both on the domestic and foreign markets. “It is the complexity of the international context that is worrying entrepreneurs in the industry,” continues Carboniero, who sees the war of duties between China and the United States as one of the causes of the investment freeze. “We ask the government authorities an extraordinary intervention to support the creation of business networks” – he concluded, adding that the resources are not many and should not be wasted  “… for 2020 to mark the beginning of a new positive cycle“.
