Wms 2022 canceled

11/01/2022

Wms (Woodworking Machinery & Supply Conference & Expo) had to raise the white flag. The event scheduled for February 24-26 has been canceled due to the recent lockdown imposed on Canada in the provinces of Quebec and Ontario.

Recently, in fact, the Canadian government had imposed the lockdown and closure of schools, restaurants, gyms, events and, in Quebec, even reintroduced a curfew due to the exponential growth of infections caused by the omicron variant.

A choice that, in the face of this, became inevitable for the organization of the fair: “With the lockdown until the end of January it was impossible to organize an event like Wms“, said Tim Fixmer, president and CEO of Cci Canada, event organizers. “Even if the measures are actually relaxed at the end of January, there would be no technical time for our exhibitors to prepare for the event“.

After the postponement of the edition originally scheduled for autumn 2021, this cancellation postpones the appointment directly to 2023. “We have decided to focus directly on the 2023 edition, which will return to take place in the autumn as usual“, concluded Tim Fixmer .
