From the Alps to Apulia: Milesi at Ostuni Design Week-end

17/06/2025

From 12 to 15 June 2025 – during the Ostuni Design Week-end – the wooden pagoda designed by Amdl Circle will become the stage for all talks. Originally created for the Courmayeur edition, the structure has been given a new colour palette to blend with the urban setting of the Apulian town.

A dialogue is thus created between the Salento limestone and the white-toned wood – a finish that enhances the elegance of the structure, while allowing the natural conifer grain to emerge. The project is a blend of creativity, sustainability and innovation, thanks to the use of high-performance, eco-friendly coatings by Milesi.

The installation – designed by Nicholas Bewick – will be placed in the Cloister of Palazzo San Francesco, then continue to Pietrasanta (LU). Made of white fir, it measures five metres per side and six in height – a space for encounters, shaped around the theme of rediscovering time, presence and deep relationships.

“We wanted to enhance the versatility of wood – a material that adapts from alpine to Mediterranean climates – while protecting it from wind, sun and sea air”, says Nicholas Bewick. “This helps preserve its natural beauty and structural integrity over time, reducing the need for constant maintenance.”
